I am currently a Year 1 teacher with four years experience of teaching. I am early years specialised. I enjoy meeting the individual needs of each child and believe that children should be taught to learn and not to just pass a test. I have always tried to make sure all lessons are fun and engaging to ensure that the child is getting the best out of their learning. I believe that lessons should be built on the child's prior knowledge of the subject in order to establish what they know so that I can build upon this. I believe that children should be encouraged by what they know already and should be praised when they learn new things - this gives the child confidence and enjoyment in learning promoting independence for learning. Each lesson would start with a short recap of prior learning from the lesson before/ the child's existing knowledge of a new topic, I use this as an assessment opportunity as well as a way to boost the child's confidence by allowing them to demonstrate what they already know. I will then teach them a new skill in which they have an opportunity to practise for them self with one to one guidance. I will encourage the child to try a challenge and then we will look at the challenge together to secure the learning.
I am a qualified primary school teacher. I specialise in early years and I have been teaching for four years. I have masters credits in early literacy and autism. I have experience of nursery, reception, year one and year 2. I have worked with a range of children with different needs. I have supported each learner to achieve the best that they can.
