When I studied math in high school, I hated it. Not because it was hard; no, I was actually really good at high school math, but rather because the teachers never told us why we used it. In college, in the first quarter, I learned how all the algebraic formulas relate, why we say x squares, and was given the reasons for using every single step. This made me so excited, and I fell in love with college math because I finally had a reason. I hate when professors don't give you a reason.
Even subjects like history can have a why. Once again, teachers in high school never explained why any of it was important or relevant. Then they just gave lectures and made us remember everything. but here you just feel mathematics
