I understand that everyone learns differently, so I try to make my teaching approach as adaptable as possible. Some people learn from reading, some from doing, and some from watching. Together, we will learn the best teaching approach for YOU. Likewise, some students need creative independence, whereas some (particularly those lacking in confidence) enjoy having a teacher to work closely with.
All teaching environments should be peaceful and stress-free, to ensure that there are no distractions to take away from the learning environment.
I'm an English Literature student at the University of Nottingham with a passion for books, history and drama! I'm friendly and understanding in my teaching approach, and recognise that everybody learns at a different pace. Having worked with many children of different ages, I have experience in knowing that every child requires a particular teaching style, and I am willing to adapt to this.
I am aware that English Language and Literature can be a testing subject for many people. Whether it be spelling, punctuation, analysing or essay writing that proves difficult, I believe there is always a way to learn what's necessary. Once you possess the knowledge of how to succeed in these subjects a world of opportunities becomes available to you, and I hope to help people achieve this.
As an individual I'm sociable, friendly and kind, and enjoy making the learning experience fun and simplistic. I'm able to use different approaches when teaching to ensure that everything is able to be easily understood, and will always try to make the work as accessible as possible!
English is a subject I love, and I hope I can encourage others to find the same passion for it as myself!

English Teacher - Romania
During the summer of 2017 I volunteered as an English teacher with underprivileged children in Romania, working with children from ages 7 to 18. I was responsible for a classroom of 20-30 children alone, and lesson planning and teaching methods were entirely up to me. Whilst this was second language teaching, it taught me invaluable skills that I will now be able to apply to all different learning environments.
This role is worked under the University of Nottingham's corporation Karnival, the student body's fundraising organisation. This role includes working with other societies and organisations, planning charity fundraising events (such as Puppy Rooms in support of Guide Dogs UK), and large scale night club events such as UoN's notorious Winter Wonderland Ocean.
I have previously acted as a tutor for other students during my studies at Sixth Form. Here I helped a girl in my year raise her grade from an E in AS History to a B, and also helped her improve her English Literature and Language skills via 1-1 tuition lessons.
