Enthusiastic health and social care assessor available for tutoring in the vale of glamorgan/Cardiff area

Methodology

In my current job, my learners qualifications are learner led. I like to keep this concept in order for learners to recognise their own strengths and weaknesses, whilst fitting their learning around their life style. Nothing worse than juggling kids, working fulltime and trying to achieve greatness (all in a days work)

I will deliver lessons to anyone with a passion for health and social care whether it is for a health and social care degree, college course, a level or GCSE. Anyone who has time learn, I have time to teach them.

Sessions are a minimum of an hour and will depend on how basic or in depth the learner requires me to go into.

I am a very laidback, easy going, friendly and bubbly woman but I know when it's time to be firm.

Background

I am a qualified QCF assessor with NVQ Level 2 and 3 in health and social care, along with a level 3 TAQA Award. I am currently supporting 25+ people to achieve their qualification in order to become registered health and social care workers. I have had a maximum of 50 learners on my caseload. I also have a BSc in Psychology which comes in handy!!

I have had 3 years experience as a domiciliary carer, live in carer and a year as a personal assistant to an elderly family member.

I am also experienced in delivering key skills maths, English and digital literacy in order to achieve a GCSE Equivalent qualification in these 3 areas.

Section Manager/Team Leader – M&S Simply Food

November 2013 – November 2014

Working as part of management in a company which sells products which have always been known to be great quality, is seen as an achievement to me. My day to day duties involve:

Making sure the morning delivery is successfully delivered to our store with the correct amount of trays we are supposed to have and making  sure that none of our delivered items are damaged.

Help my morning team to put out the delivery making sure ‘Packet perfect’ standards are met 100% of the time enabling the customers to walk into my store and be greete with great presentation of products.

Daily reports are sent out to contacts within WH Smith and M&S showing the daily tender of the business from each till, departmental sales report and food stock reporting showing the overall values of how much money we have lost. It was my job to analyse these figures and try and come up with a way of increasing sales, decreasing waste cash value and decreasing theft.

Cashing up tills

Completing banking files each week

Organising rotas

Sorting out work experience placements

Making sure all the compulsory day to day procedures are completed and done properly.

Overall I am there to support the company but also to support my team, of around 20 people, in order to get the job done with 100% success at all times.

Avon – Sales Representative

July 2013 – November 2013

Going round people’s houses collecting and handing out brochures and promoting my Avon business online has really given me a great sense of achievement, especially by how many customers are actually interested in the products I and the Avon team have to offer. It has shown myself and my team leader how business minded I am with the many ideas I have in order

to get my POB and name heard in the Avon community.

Upper Crust – Team Leader

November 2012 – November 2013

In the short time with the company, I progressed to a team leader position with increased

responsibilities which include safe control, cash management and running a team of up to 6

people across two shops in different levels of the station. This required good communication

skills to ensure that breaks are ran on time, stock levels are efficiently managed and supporting team members when managers are not available. I was involved in excellent customer service, till operation, cash handling, baguette production and barista duties. Working in this industry I have found passion and ambition to become a manager as the responsibilities drive me to lead my own team. This role has greatly increased my confidence as well as excitement for delivering a great service to customers and working in a fast paced environment. An online certificate and training in food safety and hygiene was received.

Marks & Spencer – Customer Service Assistant

October 2011 – April 2012

Working in a big department store boosted my experience. My hard work, team work and

motivation to succeed paid off resulting in my temporary contract being extended to a

permanent contract. This motivated me further to try even harder when

working with my section managers and new team, replenishing the store ready for trade.

This saw me continuously meeting my personal targets as part of the twilight team. Duties included stocking shelves, till operation, cash handling, dealing with customer

enquiries/complaints and cleaning the shop floor.

W.G.Davies – Sales Assistant

September 2008 – September 2010

This was my first ever job and so at first I was very shy and did not carry a lot of confidence

in myself. It was quite a simple job consisting of basic till work, serving customers, cleaning

the store and stocking the items. Once I got used to how things work and the greeting of usual customers my confidence grew massively and my manager gave me the responsibility of running the shop on my own every weekend. This gave me some experience in a junior

management role due to myself having to take responsibility for any problems or inquiries

made by customers in the shop or on the phone.

Skills

I am very Computer literate and I am very capable of sending emails, filing documents,

answering the phone and Organising myself, and my work. My communication skills have

grown considerably, enabling me to work effective with people from different cultures / backgrounds. I have great numeracy skills and able to work with numbers. Holding the role of

team leader requires a lot of initiative due to being the superior figure to my team members, which means I need to be able to solve problems logically and effectively in order to come to an ideal solution. Problem solving often involves other members of the team and so listening to everyone’s opinions and ideas is important for coming to an agreement. This shows my

ability of working in a team in order to increase success of the business. Other skills that I

hold are being energetic, able to cope in a fast-paced environment, have a friendly personality towards my colleagues and customers, and aim to develop my career as far as I can.

Hobbies/Interests

I have a variety of hobbies and interests which show that I am a very creative person. I have a passion for writing, drawing and music along with socialising with friends.
