I tailor my lessons to suit the student’s needs, abilities and learning styles to maximise learning, which can be discussed during the first free lesson. I try to make my lessons as fun and interactive as possible and relevant to both the exam and the world around us. I use examples from everyday life and science in the news.
The lessons can either revise previous knowledge, to strengthen and deepen understanding or I can deliver lesson on new topics, to expand a student’s knowledge. I include relevant exam questions for the topic being covered and as a marker for an exam board, can offer relevant advice on how to gain the best possible marks.
I believe that all students have the ability to achieve, given the correct encouragement and support and the knowledge they need.
Most importantly, I love science and think that my enthusiasm for the subject is passed on to my students and helps them to learn.
I have been teaching all three sciences to GCSE higher level ,both for single science and combined science, for over 20 years and have taught maths to foundation level . I have some experience of teaching biology to A level. I also am an examiner at GCSE and so recognise what is needed to achieve the best possible result.
I have been tutoring both face to face and online for about 10 years.
