Enthusiastic UoM student offering maths lessons to help students to achieve better grades

Hi, my name is Angie, a first year MPharm student at The University of Manchester. Having achieved 9 in GCSE maths, and went from a B to an A* in A-level maths, I clearly understand the common mistakes student makes and the best way to improve it in a short period of time. I had a year of experience mentoring a year 7 student at my school and helped her to gain her confidence maths. The key to achieving good grades is having confidence, right study technique and lots of practice. I can walk students through the topic they struggle the most and make the session as interactive as possible. I am a patient tutor and will adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s needs. Prior to each session I will ask the student what they would like to focus on. If there isn’t a specific topic that the student wanted to go through, I will always be happy to take a strategic approach to working through a given syllabus. I have completed both my GCSE and A level with Pearson Edexcel exam board, but I am familiar with OCR and AQA too. In summary, my lesson are 4 steps:
1. Identify individual student’s weakness, usually through past paper, student’s own experience or through homework questions I set
2. Go through their weakness
3. Practice easy to hard questions
4. Homework to take away or past paper to completed in an exam condition running up to the exam
