I am an undergraduate student studying at the University of Leeds. My core subject is Environmental Science which encompasses Geography, Geology, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
Have you ever wondered why the sky is blue, or why the ground trembles during an earthquake, or vast mountains belch molten rock as volcanoes? I can explain a whole spectrum of phenomena from the very small scale of cells to huge ocean circulations, in an interactive way.
I like to engage with the student/students by doing an activity or task alongside them, and I value the importance of creativeness and uniqueness every student possesses so I like to make mind maps, spider diagrams, and art! Assessment is also necessary of course.
I am willing to teach children as young as 9 to undergraduate University level, and anything in-between!
I have had a years experience in tutoring a GSCE student which I found a little challenging but so very rewarding. I have also worked with children and adults in the past during my time as a waitress. Academically speaking, I was head girl in my previous Sixth Form, and have qualifications including A*-A in GSCE, and AAA at A-Level, and I am currently averaging a 1st in the first year of University.
PROFILE OF SKILLS
Academically, I consider myself an engaging and enthusiastic student as during my time in school and sixth form I loved to participate in activities and events that would boost my confidence significantly. From the wide range of subjects that I have studied from French to Product Design to Business and Psychology, it is apparent that I am not afraid of new things, nor a challenge.
In the work environment, I am a trained barista and waitress with 2 years experience as front of house staff as well as a kitchen assistant. I feel as though I can deal with the public of any ages comfortably in any situation that I am faced.
The most fulfilling job I have ever had was tutoring and mentoring a student for his GSCE exams and from that, I have grown to develop my presentation skills as well as communicate with children effectively on a 1 to 1 level.
In my own time I enjoy landscape photography, reading non-fiction books, running, attending the gym and cooking..

Also, I participated in a Scholar’s Programme run where along with mentoring sessions by a PhD student, I was required to do independent study followed by an essay on an unfamiliar topic to which it was marked a 2:1.
I have also taken part in the National Citizen Service (NCS); a 4 week course in which a group of students plan and execute evens in order to raise money for a charity in order to combat an issue in the local community
Being elected Head Girl in Year 13 allowed me to flourish in confidence in public speaking and develop my organisational skills by coordinating events such as the Macmillan Coffee Morning and starting enrichments activities such as sport clubs
