My classes are based on the RFU and ERCA "Whole-Part-Whole" approach. The lesson structure is based on the APES principles: (Active, Purposeful, Enjoyable and Safe) as guided by the RFU.
My coaching character is to maximise enjoyment of every session for each player whilst focussing on developing specific skills to drive their love of rugby and physical, mental and emotional development.
You have two options for coaching:
I can travel to you and provide pre-planned sessions based on your requirements, tailoring each hour long session as required to focus on individual skill development.
Each session will come with feedback and skill development tips broken down to support ongoing development.
I can guide your delivery of training sessions with online distance learning. This option is less bespoke (but it's also cheaper!)
I will provide session plans bespoke to your requirements and based on initial discussions and, as part of an ongoing contract, build on these initial sessions to support the development of your teams.
I'm flexible to your requirements, so get in touch!
All the best,
I've been coaching rugby to over 20 children across the under 6's, under 7's, under 8's and currently under 9's levels (According to the RFU Age Grade Rugby standards) in Durham for nearly four years.
I qualified in the RFU Level 1 coaching course in 2017 and then the ERCA Level 2 course in 2018 and continue to maintain my expertise with RFU led CPD courses.

An experienced rugby player having played for over 20 years up to and including county level, Nick has played front row rugby nationally from the age of five. He began coaching in 2012 in a bid to drive the implementation of youth teams at Chesterfield Panthers in Derbyshire. Since moving to the North East of England in 2014, Nick has been a member of Durham City RFC and restarted coaching the mini section in 2016. Since then, the mini section at Durham has grown to a regular attendance of more than 20 children, gaining a reputation for having the largest club membership at mini grades in the region.
To date, Nick has maintained Coaching qualifications on top of a career in Bid Management. He takes great enjoyment from coaching rugby and hopes to transition to being able to coach full time. Additionally, in February 2018, he became a Dementia Friend associated through the Alzheimer’s Society.
