I have taught all ages from ten to adults, at every level from beginner to higher level (pre-University in Scotland)
I teach via a variety of methods depending on the student's needs and level of fluency. For example a complete beginner of English may need picture cards and objects and illustrated text books, role play and mime or acting to help them learn, whereas a more advanced learner will benefit from a variety of oral, written, grammatical, contextual lessons, which may include analysis of text, reading novels for comprehension and learning new vocabulary. These are just a few examples.
I always break the lesson up into various learning experiences so that a learner has an opportunity to speak, read, listen and write/take notes at some point in the lesson.
ESOL, French and Spanish teacher. UK trained and qualified. 29 years experience. I have taught class sizes of anything from one to 33 students. My students always do their best and most have achieved A passes in ESOL, French and Spanish. Three of my former students are now doctors and keep in touch with me.
£20 an hour for the lesson, £3 extra if I have to travel up to 10 miles.
If a student wishes me to set them a homework task, other than just me telling them during the lesson to do such and such, then the lesson will end after 50 minutes to allow me time to research/create and upload a homework task specifically for them. (realistically this will take more than 10 mins but if homework is your thing, I'm happy to do it!)
