I like to make sure the student understands the concept in depth and logic before trying to teach further into the topic. For example, in Maths, not understanding the basics properly and completely can later lead to greater incomprehension and setbacks. By spending more time on the essential, I assure myself the student is not learning blindly or by heart, but that he is trying to fully comprehend the subject he is to tackle.
I am a student and have previously been tutoring in English; French and math classes, as well as giving piano lessons to young children. I have taught around 5 children; and have managed to make them progress greatly. I am now studying economics and geography at Exeter university, a subject which requires both language and scientific skills, I would therefore say I am quite versatile.
