My teaching style is always to make you feel at ease in my presence and to mindfully carry out the poses with my gentle guidance.
My lesson may begin in a seated position which is comfortable for you. We then take a few moments to settle out breathing to a comfortable and natural rhythm along with setting an intention for the practice ahead. This could be to find some calm or some space in the body or mind.
I then demonstrate and lead some warm up postures such as seated side body stretch; cat/cow; sun salutations; moon salutation. I then guide you to a peak pose such as tree, chair, pigeon or bow pose.
We then counter this pose and complete a cool down with lots of yummy spinal stretches anything necessary that is needed before reclining to our savasana (corpse pose), where we relax the body and I often use relaxing/ chanting music for this. I may also use my gong/ brass chimes for added relaxation.
Finally we come out of savasana and I end the practice with a short meditation and some final loving words/ positive thoughts, which you can take with you throughout your week and life to live with joy and light.
I have over 4 years of self practice and 200 hours certification from the Vinyasa Yoga School in Rishikesh, India
I have taught small group classes and individuals.
My students have achieved a level of yoga knowledge of asanas, theory, mantras and yoga philosophy and have gained skills in order to carry on with their individual practice.
My students leave my sessions feeling well worked out (depending on what the goal is) and relaxed after a meditation session.
