My approach is very much directed by the student. I try to take the lessons in a direction that's inspiring but still challenging. I identify the problem areas in each individual and then tailor the content of the sessions with the goal of tackling them, taking the student down a logical path to progress. Please read my CV below for more information.

I have over 7 years of experience in private tuition ranging from students as young as 5 to as old as 75. I have taught over 100 students, some of them for many years. I operate differently for every single student. Having just finished my degree, I understand the frustrations of a 'one-size-fits-all' approach. This is not how we learn, I can promise that each lesson will be unique and interesting to you.
I also teach from the Rockschool and Trinity syllabuses, usually at the request of the student if they feel that approach is best for them.
The lesson content can vary from complete beginner to advanced concepts - I tailor the lessons to the ability and interests of my students in order to make sure they’re challenging themselves without feeling overwhelmed.
Topics covered include; technique, timing, groove & feel, dynamics, developing freedom in different musical settings (co-ordination), reading, rudiments, learning songs in a variety of genres and (ultimately) HOW to develop new skills and practice effectively in a way that's musical and fun.
Live performances and recordings:
I have also played over 100 gigs around the UK, with some in Europe (Including Pitchfork Festival, Paris) and a short residency in Dubai. At these gigs I have played a wide variety of styles, from jazz, to funk/ soul, to Brazilian/ Latin, to Rock/ Pop! You name it, we've got it covered.
My drumming has also been heard on Radio 1 on numerous occasions, and streamed on Spotify over 500,000 times.
Teach a man (person) to fish! I aim to provide my students with concrete material and exercises, tailored to them, that they can take into the practice room. Truly, my main goal with any student of mine is to develop their understanding of HOW to develop new skills, and HOW drums and music work. This way you can be just as productive during your time without me as you can during the lesson.
I give 110% for every student I have, I hope you decide to try this out for yourself!
Jordan knows his stuff, technically and theoretically, and has a great way of breaking down complex ideas. He’s also a thoroughly nice bloke and I’d recommend him unreservedly.
I had the pleasure of teaching Jordan for three years on the BIMM London Bmus course. He has proven himself to be a driven, musical, creative and methodical musician. I am sure he will make a great teacher.
Head of Drums, BIMM London
For anyone looking to take up drums or getting back into drums should definitely think about choosing Jordan as their tutor! He’s very experienced having worked with many other musicians and big names within the drum industry so you’ll know you will be in good hands.
He’s very helpful and always breaks things down to make it easier to understand. This is very helpful as music is like a completely new language, in which he is patient when things get tough and complicated.
I have only been having lessons with Jordan for around 2 months now and would highly recommended him. I feel that in this short amount of time I have already started broadening my creativity, skill set, knowledge, and I am getting pushed to practice more often and further my progress, which is especially useful for me as I am soon to be at music university.
Jordan has been my teacher for a few months now. He made me feel comfortable about learning an instrument as a mature learner. He is approachable and finds novel ways of teaching. I definitely recommend Jordan as a drum teacher. I have learned a lot from him from being a complete beginner to now able to do basic beats that sound okay.
Brilliant teacher. Takes time to find out what approach works for you. Has several ways to explain it to you. He's also patient and extremely knowledgeable.
Jordan has a unique approach with each student. He always maintains a positive attitude, making sure each student feels welcomed. His vast knowledge in music and advanced technical abilities make him a perfect choice for students from all levels. His personal teaching style makes music fun and easy to understand.
Jordan’s been teaching my son for just over six months now—first in person and lately (under lockdown) via Skype. Beyond his obviously amazing drumming skills, he’s a great tutor—patient, knowledgeable and brilliant at sharing and spreading his enthusiasm and passion for the drums. My son has come on in leaps and bounds under Jordan’s tuition. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.
