About the lesson
The session is taylor-made, depending on your current "problem to solve" and level of experience.
In each 1 hr session we have the following structure:
Session objectives: 10 minutes
Guidance | examples | step by step: 40 minutes
Wrap up and next steps: 10 minutes
I teach students from 12 to 16 and professionals, usually from 16 to their 40s, that need to improve specific skills at their professional path.
I use a very direct and pragmatic approach when solving problems. That's a consequence of my experience dealing with data and developing high-performing teams in the last 20 years.
My academic formation (Bachelor in Production Engineering and MSC in Business Administration) provides the conceptual background and business knowledge to understand a wide range of analytics problems.

About Eduardo
After almost 20 years working for startups and major companies, I started to understand that what I like to do is develop people.
I understand that problem-solving and analytical skills are key for any kind of professional and personal activity.
Now, that I am starting a new stage in my professional life, I really want to share and learn with people who are struggling with issues that I can help to solve.
Furthermore, it is also an opportunity to learn from other people and keep myself up-to-date with current technologies and what's going on in the market.

Perfect! Very organized, knowledgeable, super clear and patient. Great lessons!
Perfect! Eduardo is a highly competent teacher, able to understand the way you think to make you understand excel skills, also very positive, he is a very good teacher and a very good person too! i totaly recommand
- Eduardo's response : First of all, Dave is a very good person. He has a good self awareness of his gaps and a strong willingness to learn.
He has already a great analytical thinking but still need to improve his skills in Excel. The good thing is that he is a fast learner and very disciplined. We had an initial lesson and then he started doing exercises himself, asking questions when needed.
I think he still needs more practice to have full control of Excel but from what I've seen, he can do it very fast.
I strongly recommend starting using Excel for day to day activites (expenses control, travel planning etc) so he can be constantly in contacts with the tool.
With his wisdom (he is amost a philosopher!) and current efforts, I'm quite sure that soon he will be mastering Excel.
Perfect! Eduardo is a wonderful tutor. I'm new to Data Science and he was very patient and kind. I highly recommend him as I found his approach to teaching to be very helpful to learning and understanding new concepts, and then being able to implement the things I learned with him. He's accommodating, clear and knowledgeable.
- Eduardo's response : Khadra is a very dedicated student. She is committed to her objectives and tries to find a way to learn "how to learn" instead of just focusing on the task.
She may pay attention to how she deals with new technical content. At the first moment, these things may be complicated, but as soon as you start working and googling, you understand that other people have already passed through it and are happy to share knowledge on the web.
So, as a tutor, I think she has great skills and attitude. She is very kind and always punctual.
In summary, if she deals with one problem at a time, and breaks them into smaller pieces, she will do just fine!
Perfect! Eduardo is a really nice tutor. Very patient and hardworking. Honestly, you can't ask for more. He was able to be patient with me despite my strong dislike for Excel! He's also very flexible and helpful. Thank you Eduardo:)
- Eduardo's response : We had an initial session where we could talk about her current knowledge of excel and I suggested to her some specific approaches regarding what she needed to learn.
It was an open conversation and I felt Roberta was very committed to her objectives. I hope I can help her to achieve her Excel goals.

Eduardo has been really great so far. He explains things very well and gets straight to the point. I'm very happy I've found Eduardo and believe my skills will go further than I expected.
"Eduardo is a great tutor. First, we've gone through a couple of lessons and I managed to master essential excel features such as formulas and pivot tables.
After that, we could dive into more complicated problems and his guidance was essential.
I recommend him not only for beginners but also advanced excel users."Eduardo is a very professional and dedicated tutor. I particularly liked the initial assessment. After the results, he could understand my level of knowledge and shape the lessons for what I needed. He is not "excel feature" oriented, but problem-solving oriented.
I also recommend him for advanced tasks in excel, including macros and working with external files.I would say that Eduardo is a master of excel.
Although he is very technical, through an accessible language he demystifies and uncomplicates making excel my best friendBefore meeting Edu, I had never used Excel properly: I would fumble around it on rare occasions in order to make a graph, but escape as soon as I could. Not only did I not know what to do, I also wasn't aware of everything that could potentially be done using Excel and how it would make my work 100 times easier. Edu was very kind to take time and teach me the basic logic behind it and accompanied me whilst I started building more advanced formulas. He doesn't mind explaining however times it may be necessary and whenever he is met with an issue he doesn't already know how to solve (which is very rare, I must say), he is quick to adjust and find other ways to use the tools provided in the software. Could not recommend Edu highly enough.

Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?
It was a long time ago, I think in the mid of the '80s. I was visiting my father in his office (a petroleum company) and they had those Apple II Plus with lots of classic games such as Aztec, Panic, and Battle Chess.
I had already some contact with videogames, but I found the PC something amazing. I remember I could actually write some simple games (math games) and had a lot of fun.02
What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?
Definitely the internet. Before the internet things were much more complicated. Sharing knowledge and self-learning were too challenging; technical books were always very expensive.
Now it is part of our day-to-day life. Something that actually is a little bit scary. Internet giants became so big (biggest than countries, for example) that they created their own business world.
Maybe the next frontier in this scenario is how we deal with privacy. Maybe people will start to disconnect. I don't know.
But all the convergence we've been through in the last 10 years reached a point where it is almost impossible to live without being connected.03
Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.
I love data. I always loved data. And now we have terabytes of data but people simply don't know how to extract real information from it.
I think that as a data professional, you can help people to have valuable insights from any kind of data, make synapses and figure out what is relevant and what is not.04
Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?
At a certain point, yes, because they've reached amazing things. Among the ones cited, I really admire Bill Gates.
But the characters I like the most are the ones who were frequent learners. For example, Brazilian inventor Santos Dumont put all his skills (and financial condition) into the early development of both lighter-than-air and heavier-than-air aircraft. Despite crashes, failures, and almost fatal accidents, he was always improving his methods and aiming for bold goals.
I also admire thinkers and solvers, people that make you stop, put your heads up and reflect on your own path.
In this category, I like Ozan Varol and recommend his book, "Think like a rocket scientist".05
Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.
I don't know the author, but I like this one: "Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one."
06
What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?
Raising a child is too complicated, you have no manual, and a lot of people raise their children.
Why IT would be complicated with so much knowledge shared on the web?07
What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?
I love music (I play the guitar myself) and sports. I am quite good when cooking; actually, the pandemic made me explore this competence.
I also love to spend time reading, fiction books, business books, and rock biographies.08
What makes you a Superprof in IT?
I like to teach what I've learned. It is also a good way to keep up with young people, and new technologies.
I know that I have a lot of work experience but at the same time, I don't want to sit and relax.
Superprof is a nice way to challenge me, and help other people to see that data analytics can be simple.
And is there something better than helping someone to improve their skills?
Maybe you can change someone's life by doing something you love. And this is priceless.
