I base my lessons on the needs of the individual student, and plan my lessons so that students will be able to see progression in their learning. I address any weaknesses in understanding of fundamental concepts and try to make exercises just the right level of challenging to build motivation and confidence, working with the core belief that anyone can do well in English, given the right tools.
I have over four years of experience teaching English literature and language to GCSE and A-level students as a private tutor. I've helped all kinds of students, from those who have just needed some extra help with their homework, confidence, or exam technique, all the way to homeschooling students who have struggled with English before. One of my recent students has gone from a D/E to a B grade in his English GCSE exam.
Outside of tutoring professionally, I have also worked as a writer in the past, and have taught advanced creative writing and English to students at Oxford Royale Academy. I have also taught creative writing to adult learners, and have coached and edited two novels by a first time writer.

Nina taught English and Creative Writing at Oxford Royale, and was under my supervision as a programme director. I could not recommend her highly enough, she is a highly engaging, empathetic and motivating teacher with excellent knowledge and enthusiasm for her subjects.
I had the pleasure of marking her lessons as an external observer and was thoroughly absorbed in the lesson, and even found myself taking notes! She demonstrated outstanding teacher student relationships, and over the class there were zero behavioural issues in the group. All students were on task and motivated throughout the lesson and made demonstrable progress. Her expertise, enthusiasm and talent for teaching is clear, and she was marked out as one of our most outstanding teachers.

Nina has been tutoring my 15 year old to prepare her for Biology GCSE exam, my daughter enjoyed being taught by Nina as she speaks very slowly and clearly explains everything and allows her student to understand each topic properly, she even stayed back later than her scheduled lessons to ensure my daughter has understood the topic. Thank you soo much for all your help Nina.
