I adapt each lesson to the individual needs of the student, and the particular exam they are working towards. Lessons are focused as well as fun. For GCSE and A Level students, I help them prepare their set texts thoroughly giving exam advice, guidance on essay writing structure and helping with developing analytical skills.
I am 25, and am an experienced tutor with a BA in English Literature from UCL. My school qualifications (A levels and GCSEs) were all A*'s and A's. I love interacting with my students and helping them to achieve their goals, and am happy to teach online as well as in person. I am well equipped to tutor students of a wide variety of levels in English - I cover the 11+, GCSEs, A levels as well as helping people who are struggling with Personal Statements and university work. I also possess an up-to-date Enhanced DBS certificate.
After my BA I completed a Masters in Performance with Distinction from the Royal College of Music and I am now working as a professional cellist, performing as soloist and chamber-musician.
Tutoring Experience
I have now been giving private English tuition for three years. I am employed by private tutoring agencies such as Griffin and Bell, and Kensington and Chelsea Tutors. I also volunteer with the charity RefuNet, teaching English Literature to refugees.
Tutoring Approach
I aim always to address the personal needs of each student and am keen to find out the specific areas they need help with before meeting so as to get the most out of each tuition session. Lessons are focused and hardworking but always enjoyable - I want my students not only to get top results in their exams but to develop a real love for English Literature.
