While my recent formal experience has been with FE students and above, I have taught students from the age of 5 through to university level on a wide range of topics. Areas of study include; Physical Theatre (from Dance-based to Commedia dell'Arte), Shakespeare, Contemporary Theatre, Prose.
A general lesson will include a short warm-up (either skills or focus based) prior to the main content; breaking down a script/choreography, rehearsal, feedback and discussion based on learning taken place and next steps. I try to make lessons as practical as I can, dependent on the material that we are working with and the end result required.
I have been teaching since 2006 across Yorkshire and Staffordshire, to a variety of age groups and abilities and in a variety of settings; from community groups to sixth-form colleges. Now I have returned to my roots in Doncaster, where I began performing at the age of 7 years and founded DN4 Dance & Theatre in 2019. In addition to a BA Hons in Dance and PGCE (PCET), I have a background in Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Musical Theatre and is a registered teacher with BBOdance (British Ballet Organisation). When I'm not teaching, I work closely with local Theatre groups and on a professional basis, acting, singing and providing choreography for events/productions. Over my experience in working in FE, I have successfully supported many of my students in their application process to Higher Education and Drama school; selecting and rehearsing monologues for audition and preparing UCAS application. Some of my former students are currently studying at ALRA and UCLAN and I have also successfully helped students gain entry to Anglia Ruskin in Cambridge.
Cancellation of lessons with less that 24 hours notice will be charged to the student at full cost.
I am an experienced and driven professional teacher within the lifelong learning sector, committed to excellence within my subject specialism of Performing Arts. I have taught a wide range of students with different needs at various levels, ages and learning difficulties, both in employment and through my own Dance & Theatre school, and I aim to use that experience to develop teaching across the region.

Perfect! Amazing tuition with Angela. I am learning to understand about the status of different characters. but how acting is all about living that script
Great energy and enthusiasm! Great imagination and not afraid to try new things /topics. Connection wasn’t great over the internet but Myriame worked really hard in the lesson.
Angela is a fantastic tutor as she is organised and has your best interest at heart to progress.
She will help you to understand yourself as a performer and highlight all your key areas for improvement.
Finally she will assist you with Applying for your next year of study, whether that’s university or otherwise and fill help with UCAS applications too.
Ang was my college teacher and I couldn’t have asked for better, she made me feel welcome and wanted and made me like I had a friend as well as a teacher. 5 years after leaving college I still use so much of what she taught me, about acting and what my specialty was and what I could bring to acting. Could not recommend more. She will get the best out of you!
Anj tutored me in Performing Arts for 2 years. She brings unparalleled passion and enthusiasm into every session. Her knowledge is extensuve and she also excels in creating work from scratch. Anj taught me not only the basics of performance, but also professionalism, managing expectations in a positive but realistic way and so much more
She strives to help foster talent and confidence so students can realise their full potential, perhaps long before even they know it themselves! Cannot recommend Anj enough
Angela was my tutor in college and she was always attentive towards my progression. She pushed me to excel throughout my studies and made it her mission to make time for each student. She is a very caring and passionate person and makes an excellent tutor.
