I focus my attention on the student's skills to target my classes on those. I usually go through the theoretical parts to make sure the student got the principles and then we apply those by doing practical exercises. If the student has specific needs or preferences, I change the structure of the class accordingly.
I recently completed my master degree in Big Data Science and I'm now working as data science engineer, after graduating full marks with honour in Statistics. I have been giving private lessons in maths, statistics, Italian and English during university and work. I am a brilliant person, really passionate about what I do and always committed to achieve my goals with the best results.
Preference to have classes online or in public spaces (such as libraries or cafes). Available to travel in zones 1 and 2 (north London).
I am a full-grade graduate student in Statistics and Information Management (Milan, July 2017), recently graduated in the MSc Big Data Science (London, Sept 2019) and employed as data science engineer and data scientist for a digital wealth management company based in London.
Thanks to the university internship I did in a research project about machine learning models for text classification (Milan, 2016), I became very interested in fields like artificial intelligence, data mining and predictive analytics.
In my job I deal with the improvement and maintenance of the enterprise data warehouse, ETL pipelines and the BI tool used by the business users to get insights about the data.
I have proved enthusiasm, determination, curiosity and dedication in all my years of study, furthermore I have looked for a constant exchange with people of different ages, cultures and ideas. I have worked in positions like co-manager of a group of kids in a British summer school (2016), entertainer and manager of a small children village (2015, 2016), student representative of my degree course (2015-2017) and tutor in maths, latin and Italian (2014-2016).

Perfect! I have always found statistics challenging. However, with Elena's help I can now understand it and, more importantly, apply it. Elena is a great teacher and she puts a lot of effort in all the classes. Very highly recommended if you are looking to improve you skills on this subject.
Angelika is really willing to put a lot of effort in acquiring the skills she needs and fostering productive lessons. I'm teaching her statistics and probability at the moment. She's very respectful and a very nice person to work with.
To give this any context, I am a teacher and have trained teachers for a number of years. I know Elena through one of the modules she is taking for her MSc where I am a demonstrator.
The first thing you notice about Elena is how she conducts herself. Where every other student expected me to kneel on the floor while I help them, Elena offered half her seat so I could sit down. She has a selfless attitude and is concerned with the well-being of others. Elena has a thirst for knowledge and seeks a deeper understanding of whatever her task is; this allows her a well rounded understanding of the problem and she tackles it head on.
Elena is passionate about helping others, and about teaching. Before starting her MSc, she regularly mentors school children in Italy and in the UK where she helps students learn either Italian or English. Her approach to teaching is centred around the individual. I have noticed this even at University level where she takes a great deal of time to ensure whoever she is helping, understands what is going on as opposed to just handing them the answer. She has the ability to ask the right questions, and to provide the right guidance with what the individual needs.
Elena is really approachable and has a welcoming attitude. The most important thing is, she cares. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough. She is fun to be around, has a lovely character and anyone would be lucky to have her as a tutor.
