My teaching method is quite malleable and focused on the needs of the student, but to give a rough idea:
Usually I begin by trying to get an idea of where the student's knowledge is at the moment. With a brand new student that might involve some low-pressure placement questions. With regular students we will have a conversation about the topic we will be covering that day, and the student can demonstrate their knowledge to me in a relaxed way. Issues arising at this point are addressed first, and then I tend to spend a lot of time helping students understand how to apply their knowledge and why they would want to, as I find that 90% of the time, this is where the problem lies. So at this point I cover lots of practical examples to help the student really understand how it works, not just memorise a technique for an exam question!
I have a Physics degree from the University of St Andrews, and have been tutoring Physics and Maths for several years now. I have helped my students to achieve top grades, build their confidence, and learn to find the fun in these subjects!

Lauren is a passionate, skilled musician and an excellent tutor. She is creative, kind and patient. I have known and played music with Lauren for several years. Her dedicated and thorough approach to music make her a joy to work with. Having seen her teach, I can heartily recommend her as a tutor - especially since she is so good at adapting teaching to the different needs of individual students.
I have known Lauren for five years through university and musical commitments and could not recommend her more. She is a highly trained musician, good with children, encouraging and open.
