I have worked as an English teacher for 9 years in total. I started teaching in South Korea, then in the Philippines and I am currently teaching students in London from different countries to prepare them for university or enhance their general English skills for their jobs. I have also studied in different countries to pursue my career by developing my linguistic abilities.
One-to-one tutorial, Private tutor, London UK
Currently teaching adult learners on a one-to-one basis. My students are from various cultural backgrounds, not just Korean, but Japanese, Portuguese, Italian and Polish. One of my students is currently studying at UCL, another is studying IELTS in order to get a high score to be accepted on a Masters’ course in Business. My other students are from various countries and came to London seeking work but who do not have sufficient English skills required, such as basic grammar knowledge or the ability to write and respond to emails.
I have taught many people who work in a variety of different industries such as doctors, lawyers and (fashion/graphic..) designers. These people required higher academic scores as well as specific vocabulary.

Perfect! Sheridan is an excellent, student-oriented teacher. She's helped me to improve my writing style and essay design (during our lessons, we were focused on the IELTS Academic writing tasks). Due to our current situation, I've decided to take the Duolingo English test (I received 125 points in the 1st attempt).
Perfect! I met Sheridan while I was practising for the IELTS test. Within a few days my writing for the test improved significantly.
I will highly recommend you Sheridan if you are interested in improving your English skills quickly.
He was a brilliant student. I hope he can get 7.5 score in IELTS writing. Thanks for contacting me again. Good luck :)
I used to study MA in TESOL at UCL with Sheridan. I always felt encouraged and motivated whenever I interacted with her. She clearly takes pride in her work and she is a highly professional teacher who has a CELTA qualification.
I had difficulty learning English, especially
grammar, but not now. Sheridan has lots of knowledge. She corrected my grammar. The best part of studying with her is that she is very kind and mild. She is really good at helping someone to understand English grammar. She has so much potential as a teacher.
Having done my MA in Applied linguistics with Sheridan I can vouch that she is extremely competent in this area and full of great and innovative ideas to improve people's written comprehension. She certainly helped me at times!
I was in London for my IELTS last year, I need 7.5 points for my master’s degree. It felt very anxious and did not know how to prepare. Luckily, a friend I met at Euston Church recommend Sheridan to me! Thank God! I was blessed with such a nice tutor. Sheridan has been an English teacher for more than eight years and she has taught students from different countries! She is an experienced and excellent teacher! Her classes are always well prepared and well organized, she is very strict with me, lol... When I made mistakes, she gave me feedbacks timely. She is always patient! Without her help, I would have failed in the IELTS. Her help contributed a lot to my getting 8 in IELTS. I really appreciate everything! By the way, she also encourages me whenever I felt down! Life is much nicer with Sheridan in my life!
Sheridan is a funny and friendly person. Since she, herself, has been learning English as a foreign language as well, she understands the difficulties her students may face while they learn English. If you are especially looking for someone to teach you grammar, she would be your best choice.
Sheridan is an incredibly dedicated teacher who puts a lot of time into preparing and tailoring each lesson for her students. She is passionate about language and her desire to share that with others is evident in what she does. She knows what students need as well as the language rules so that she can teach them how to enhance their language skills better than I am who has been using English all my life. I can truly tell you that she has a lot to offer when it comes to teaching languages.
Sheridan is a patient and professional teacher. As language learners, students will need a teacher who has comprehensive knowledge of teaching language tests. Before students start the tutor lessons, the teacher will discuss the learning plan with them. After that, she will design the handouts based on students' language competence and needs. By doing so, students can improve themselves step by step with organized teaching methods.
Sheridan is a fantastic teacher. Very professional, punctual, well organised, empathic and with remarkable abilities for teaching grammar. We were training for my IELTS test for a few months before to start my PhD and I improved substantially. She is also really flexible and captures very well your needs as students, giving very specific advice on how to improve and train English. She also provides a lot of exercises to keep working by yourself between classes. I highly recommend her as a teacher.
Sheridan's knowledge of grammar is amazing. I have been using English my whole life and she immediately started correcting mistakes I was making, and has been helping me to understand the rules, so I stop making the same mistakes in the future.
Sheridan loves to teach, and is evidently gratified by the progress of her students. The time and effort she puts into the tailoring of courses to her students needs and the planning and presentation of each lesson is apparent.
She has an encouraging and nurturing approach, making a point to utilise contexts familiar to the student, and taking responsibility to ensure they achieve a robust comprehension of fundamental grammar. All of which to gently raise the confidence of the student. She genuinely cares that all of her students achieve their language learning goals.
