Hey! I use communicative approach based on structured materials at my lessons. It means that we use a course book, but after each exercise I immediately ask my students to discuss whatever we've done. For example, at my Survival Course we learn how to introduce yourself at the first lesson.
Of course, my lesson plan depends on my student's goal and it can be just a grammar drill, but I like to combine grammar, speaking and different games. I always ask to do homework and encourage to do lots of listening at home. I always encourage my students to do the maximum but I understand if you are busy with your every day duties. So, no worries, we can just study at the lesson.
By the way, I regular run the Russian Movie Club and the Reading Club online every Tuesday. Contact me to join.
I also write short stories and create podcasts about Ukraine.
Hey! Beautiful Day to you!
For more than 10 years I've been teaching online now. The reason for that is that I like travelling, meeting new people, learning their culture and enjoying our planet. I've visited around 20 countries so far, while still keeping teaching my students. My students are from the UK, Canada, Australia, Russia (I also teach English) and Europe.
Let me tell you more about my students. With Tom from the UK we were reading Stephen King in Russian, working on the new vocabulary from each exctract and after that he was creating his own stories. One of them is about my cat Lyova. Let me know if you would like to read it. Tom expanded his vocabulary this way and improved his grammar by writing. I also asked him to retell his stories for speaking practice.
With Ghokan from Turkey we've covered 'Survival Russian' by Karavanova and then we've done 100 lessons on the website learnrussian.rt.com. Now, he is able to have a good interesting conversation and keep up learning by listening to my podcasts.
With Niilo from Finland we concentrated on travelling topics, such as "at the airport", "in the street", "at the hotel", "taxi", "shopping", etc. After that he came to Ukraine and could get by in Odessa without my help.

I graduated from Donetsk National University in 2006. After that I was working in different language centres in my city, such as ARPI and Donstream. It was mainly group sessions. For the last few years I've been teaching online on different language platforms. I am passionate about teaching, that's why I always seek for the latest methods and tools.

Excellent! Iryna was on top of everything and from the get-go texted me in Russian - which I found very helpful to directly immerse myself into the language. Only had one lesson with her, but she is very nice, helpful and has a structured approach to her classes!
Yvonne studies very fast. She is an excellent student. She needs to improve grammar and boost her vocabulary.
I worked with Iryna in person when I studied in Ukraine for 9 months. She is a great tutor! Very patient and able to explain nuances to non-native speakers. She was helpful in both Russian and Ukrainian.
I've been a close friend of Irina for a year and had an opportunity to witness her lessons and even a Homestay Programme.
I can say that she is professional, attentive and good at teaching... She always has an individual approach to everybody.
All her students have made a good progress while studying with her.
I can highly recommend her as a good teacher.

I met Iryna in India, just two months before my trip to Russia. Her gentle soul and kind voice made it very easy to learn some Russian from her, to make my time in Russia a little better!
I first contacted Iryna in February 2018. After talking to her more later I finally decided to to reach out to her for Russian lesson. I must say, I made the right choice.
