My teaching methods are adapted and differentiated to suit the needs of my pupils. I have a strong subject knowledge and I am therefore able to make the topics more accessible, fun and relatable. Furthermore, I have differentiate booklets full of past paper questions from previous examinations; this process is extremely important in building confidence with exam technique as many pupils struggle to use the correct scientific words to gain marks on their examinations. My aim is to build subject knowledge in a fun and relatable way and thus build confidence and resilience to ensure that my pupils feel prepared for any scenario they may face in their examinations.
I am an experienced secondary school science teacher specialising in biology, however I am experienced in teaching all three sciences to GCSE level. In addition I teach Biology A-level. While at university I tutored GCSE students both in private and in group sessions. All pupils that I tutored received A*-B and A-level A-C in A-level biology. Furthermore, for the previous two years I have tutored pupils on the new science GCSE specification. All pupils received grade 4-9 meeting or achieving higher than their target grades predicted by their schools.
