My teaching methods are flexible and depend a lot on the students. I don't see the point in enforcing a certain way of learning when each individual will have different techniques that work for them.
In the first lesson I would probably put some time aside to discuss how we want the class to work and so we both know what the goal is for the class.
I am a student at University of York. I study Writing and Directing for theatre but I am also an experienced fictional writer and a published poet.
I am the Deputy Arts Editor for a large student led newspaper and also write news articles (mostly on theatre, poetry and the arts). I have experience as a proofreader and an editor and although I mostly focus on scripts and fiction, I do have experience in other genres of writing such as non-fiction, historical, academic and more.
I mostly would like to teach the creative process behind writing and be the person that teaches you how to successfully translate your imagination into words on paper. However, I am happy to help with any aspect of writing.
I have experience as a mentor and a creative writing tutor.
