About the lesson
I am an experienced Mechanical Engineer and have taught extensively to students from various levels for over 8 years! I specialise in teaching Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology and I am specially effective in improving grades with exam techniques.
My teaching approach:
> Simplicity and real life examples - I excel at communicating in simple terms and with experiences that we encounter everyday, something we can touch and feel!
> Diagrams - I show confusing concepts with clear simple diagrams.
> Practice questions to improve grades - I have lots of materials to practice with.
Other things i do:
I work hard to plan lessons and to cater to each student's individual needs. I am always delighted by questions - the more you ask the better. Thanks to my ability to explain things 'simply' I have had great results with all my students. My passion for Science is contagious and I can make most topics super interesting :)
Example lesson:
We will start by introducing ourselves and the task at hand. I will ask you simple questions about the topics you want to cover (such as, what is the most difficult part you face, have you studied it before at school or with friends etc.). Once I understand your level of comfort with the topic, I will suggest a plan on how to proceed.
We will often start with an explanation of the terminology used in for that topic in books and in exam papers and use diagrams and examples to simplify these.
Once (and only when) you are comfortable, we will move to practice questions which we will do together until you start becoming confident. When you feel like you can take questions on your own I will give you a short quiz to see how you have improved and amend any areas if needed.

Perfect! Haris is a grate tutor because he teaches through practice and for me it’s the best way to learn. Usually we will briefly cover a topic and then do questions about it. He is very patient and explains things very clearly. If I am stuck with a question he will not only show me how to do it but he will also teach me how to approach similar questions in the future. 10/10
Perfect! I usually don't trust getting an online teacher for my kid but I'm 110% satisfied with the first my kid got from Haris. I was sitting with my son at the start of the lesson and it was clear how effective Haris's teaching methodologies were. My kid not only learned very well but was also was very comfortable with Haris too. Haris creates such a nice friendly and effective study environment. Would highly recommend Haris's to other parents.

Perfect! Haris has been an amazing tutor and breaks down complicated maths problems so they suddenly seem really simple.
I haven't studied maths & physics since school (well over 10 years ago) and so am pretty rusty, but in just a few lessons I feel a lot more confident. I've also really enjoyed the lessons, and the supplementary material has been so helpful in getting up to speed in a short space of time. I would recommend Haris 100%.- Haris's response : Francesca is great. She is very conscientious and loves learning something new every lesson. She is always keen and asks for more practice questions which will definitley make her in to an even better student.
Excellent! good communication checks in with you and encourages you to ask questions, very thorough and breaks everything down into easy steps

I was recommended Haris by my friend to help with my daughter’s science GCSEs.
He has so far proven to be a great tutor and my daughter feels more confident from her sessions with him,We appointed Haris to help with physics for my children. I was amazed with the level of detail he goes to to help the students and the amount of patience he has. Aamir KhanHaris has been one of the best tutors I have ever met.
Haris has been so helpful in coaching me for my GCSE exams and helped me a lot
'Haris has helped me improve so much and regain my confidence specially with Maths and Physics'
Haris is a very committed tutor and takes his role with full responsibility and connects with each of his tutees at a personal level. He goes above and beyond to ensure the best learning of his tutees.
Haris is very talented and naturally gifted athlete. Highly recommended him, his very thorough onto his workouts and design work out according to different body type.
Haris is very professional, hardworking and reliable. He helped me prepare for a numerical reasoning test for my dream graduate job. I hadn't done maths for years and have never been confident with numbers. He patiently took me through example questions, guiding me and understanding my own learning preferences until I was much more confident. I passed the reasoning test and got the job! I would not hesitate to recommend Haris as the ideal tutor for building knowledge, confidence and examination skills.
Though I'v known Haris on a personal level but I can say Haris is a trustworthy tutor because:
- He had rich experience as a tutor working with different students
- He is very articulate and logical, a good communicator who can explain a complex issue and the solution very clearly
- He is super friendly, funny and considerate. That makes one's learning fun but also very well-tailored to help success.Haris is a brilliant teacher. He has really helped me achieve a good grade in undergrad physics. Moreover, he’s a genuine guy, and cares deeply about his students. Highly recommend!
I have know Haris for more than 8 years now. His commitment towards teaching has been a constant throughout his career trajectory. Haris is great at explaining complicated theories and phenomenon into simpler ideas. He makes the process of learning less stressful and more fun and is always there to make your bright side shine!
I remember Haris being seriously committed to tutoring ever since I first met him in 2012. Having received engineering-related tutorials from Haris, I can commend him as someone reliable, dedicated and acutely attentive to other people’s needs. Haris would go to great lengths to clarify complex processes and mechanisms in easily approachable yet robust ways. Given Haris’s eccentric personality, distinctive interests and ability to mediate between many disciplines, I believe he will go far as a great tutor.
Mark, age 27He will go into detail and make sure you understand the core principle behind a topic/ subject, not only this but he will give very simple examples that even a 3 year old would be able to understand. But Before anything he will understand what your weaknesses are and what your strengths are, from there he will strengthen not only your weaknesses but even your strengths to the point where the person learning will be able to teach the topics/ subjects to others.
Because he teaches good

1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?
I first got interested in Science and Physics in HighSchool when I learned about Mechanics and Forces - it was very fascinating for me to understand how and why the physical world behaved. I started by helping my friends with their school work and slowly realised that sometimes I helped them better than our teachers! I soon was helping a lot of the class and when I started University I formally began working as a tutor
02
2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).
I love all three Sciences (Physics being my favourite but I love Chemistry and Biology too) and Maths. My most favourite topics of discussion are when knowledge from all three areas is being used (like in the preparation of Medical School Entrance tests GAMSAT).
03
3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?
Like most people who like Physics - I love the work and life of Albert Einstein - in particular his quote: If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough.
04
4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?
I think it takes many traits but the most important ones are emotional intelligence, ability to speak in a simple language and ability to explain things with stories, diagrams and questions.
05
5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.
I was once helping to prepare a Thai student for an entrance exam into a competitive School in Bath. The student was completely new to the UK system of education and really wanted to get into this school. We worked together for 3 weeks before the entrance exam and in addition to helping him with the Science subjects, I also tried to provide moral support and coaching for him. As he was in a new culture and country - he needed this support and responded very well to it. This student worked really hard and was able to pass the exam on his first attempt. His mum was delighted and they took me out for a celebratory lunch at a very nice Thai restaurant I thought this was a very kind gesture from them and I was very happy with our work together.
06
6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?
In high school when I was learning the basic scientific concepts for the first time, I was never clearly told the actual meaning of terms. E.g. I was told the textbook definition of terms such as 'Force' or 'Diffusion' but never actually told how I can experience and understand these in real life situations. I think this creates a problem where students can not associate closely with what they are learning - which i believe is important for confidence building and clear understanding.
07
7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?
I have a passion for motorsport. I own (a beautiful) Suzuki Motorbike and love taking care of it myself. I try to understand how its engine and suspension works and I have bought a lot of tools to service it myself - love getting my hands dirty and making my bike better when I can. I think any chance I get to use my knowledge of engineering to do practical activities is a bonus.
08
8) What makes you a Superprof (besides answering this interview questions :-P) ?
My passion to help. I think all my motivation and hard work comes from the fact that I genuinely want people to truly understand concepts and ideas. This helps me to prepare my lessons with enthusiasm and really be creative with using techniques such as diagrams and real life personal experiences to explain the learning content.
