My teaching method is based off of the Suzuki and Kodaly methods. I believe that when learning violin it is similar to how we learn how to speak. First we learn how to make sounds, then say sentences, then we learn to read. When we do this with violin very quickly we can be creating beautiful sounds and talking through our instrument.
I am a student at the Royal Northern College of Music studying violin performance. I play with many orchestras and professional ensembles along side my active duo, the Nexus Duo. I have a great passion for teaching and I have taught many pupils with a large age range and ability over the years. I look forward to meeting you!
The first free lesson will often be to talk to the parents about the teaching style and resources, along with measuring the child so they can get the correct size of violin. If this is all in place then let the teaching begin!
