I try and come up with simpler methods to help people understand concepts using tricks like songs or stories. I believe everyone is capable of achieving high grades it the teaching method that needs to change depending on the requirements of the student.

• Conceptualised, designed and implemented:
o initiatives assisting with development of young people to enrich them and help them fulfil their potential
o training sessions for a committee made up of young people and other volunteers
• Ensured that all activities met health and safety, and financial legislation, and best business practice
• Rolled out programmes for and with over 2,500 young people annually. Included:
o youth ‘drop in’ projects to help guide and direct those from socio-economically deprived backgrounds
o residential trips and youth club projects
• Successfully partnered with O2, NYA and 4 Children to obtain grants enabling young people to innovatively manage their own projects, assisted by volunteers
• Fundraising bids and applications: secured partnership bids of over £3m and in-kind donations of over £2.5m
• Developed and set up a youth mentoring programme in Brent, Harrow, Ealing and neighbouring boroughs: matched over 250 young people; mentors ranged from university students to CEOs of £multi-billion businesses

• Ran over 19 volunteer recruitment drives, leading to the training of, and working with, over 250 volunteers
• Led and worked on a successful community asset transfer bid to take over Wembley Youth and Community Centre
• Arranged a cost-free 2-year lease for a 4-storey prime-site building by pitching tax advantages to the owners
• Demonstrating Ansar’s vision, secured celebrity buy-in from:
o English national footballer Alan Shearer, OBE
o Olympic boxer Amir Khan

• Led the “QUIT” Youth Services Programme, managing a £500,000 budget and 20-strong national team generating income to support and grow the project’s youth tobacco education and cessation services and promote better health
