I can teach A level History (Russia, China, Tudors and coursework), A level Film (WJEC), and the same at GCSE with Media Studies. I aim to make my students fall in love with their subject, because doing so will provide the motivation to succeed. Lessons will be fairly simple, and involve lots of communication and discussion. History and Film are subjects that I really want to grasp the student's ideas on. We'll start off with a brief discussion of the topic and what they already know. We'll then launch into some general knowledge and facts, which we'll eventually turn into flash cards, digestible notes or mindmaps- whatever the student feels the best will help them. We'll then answer an exam question together, and if they'd like to, I will set a 15 minute homework task.
I have given tutoring lessons in my school for 2 years, teaching GCSE students and helping them with exam practice, and general knowledge needed to excel in exams. I worked with four students in total, taking them from a grade 4 to a grade 6 and above. I have also tutored one media studies students at GCSE level, helping with their practical coursework, especially with their essays and theory exam revision prep.
