Hi, I'm Joe! I have recently graduated in BSc(Hons) Biomedical Sciences at Northumbria University with First Class Honours. My Research project was studying membrane associated proteins within the pathogenic bacteria Streptococcus equi. To pursue my passion of microbiology I am starting a Masters of Research (MRes) in Molecular Microbiology at Newcastle University this September.
I have 14 GCSE's A*-C including grade A in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. I have A Levels in Human Biology, Psychology and Sociology.
I offer tutoring for students sitting their GCSE's, AS levels and A levels in Biology. I can cover whole topics or just areas which the student finds challenging. My teaching strategy will vary depending on the student. Once the students have understood the challenging topics fully, I will then focus on exam techniques if they wish and ensure they understand the focus of questions and what the examiners are looking for. This is mainly achieved through past exam questions.
I can travel within Newcastle and the surrounding areas I am available all year round. I look forward to helping you reach your full potential in science!
I am new to tutoring however, because I am a current university student and I only sat my GCSE's around 6 years ago, I have an understanding of what is required to achieve excellent grades in exams and how to overcome the challenges which Biology can have.
