My teaching principle is very simple. The best way to understand the theory behind science in my opinion is to learn through practice and being able to connect very complex matters to things around us. My second principle is to make sessions fun, interactive and engaging. I recently developed a teaching tool on Genially used by an Upcoming Engineering University called TEDI-London developed by KCL, UNSW and ASU, which lets students connect with concepts through an interactive and approach based on asking students the right questions. I will be using skills from this 10 week international virtual program based in Engineering and Design to develop teaching tools and base my own teaching upon.
I am a Chemistry student at the University of Southampton. I have had experience tutoring A level Chemistry, and BTEC Science students, as well as co-teaching peers during my degree. I ran a project called Schools Plus which was dedicated to teaching students from disadvantaged areas across primary, secondary and tertiary schools.
