I believe with Japanese it is important to teach the alphabet, which are Hiragana and Katakana. These things can be learned easily by yourself, so if the student is able to come to class know then vaguely then we can start learning verbs, nouns and basic sentence structure.
I have been studying Japanese for 8 years. I am currently in my final year of Oxford Brookes university, studying Japanese Bachelor’s degree. Last year I spent a year in Japan, studying at a Japanese university. I also had a job working in a Japanese restaurant. My work and interview was entirely in Japanese. I have also taken Modern Foreign Language Teaching modules at university.
