I have always found learning is most effective when you are actually interested in and engaged. Therefore I have always tried to keep lessons interesting, interactive and stimulating. Although at points there will always be theory that needs to be taught, I believe in doing this in short bursts; teach it, understand it, test it, explain it. From this I like to make questions and get students to answer using what they’ve learnt, talking through the processes with me to ensure their understanding is correct and that they can productively apply the appropriate formulae.
I am a final year medical student at the University of Birmingham, I have been tutoring for various companies over the last few years, I recently won the award for 'Best Grade Improvements 2019' with MyTutor. I have also taken time out from medicine and completed some a research projects in particular on hip dysplasia and replacements.
I studied Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Maths at A-level, getting A*A*AA grades - though I also enjoyed, and continue to enjoy, my sports, including rugby, tennis, football and hockey. I play for the medics rugby team, I'm a keen athlete, have ran a marathon and gym regularly.
As a Medical Student we study a broad range of disciplines, from Anatomy to genetics, and every time I am impressed and stimulated by the sheer volume of factors that contribute to how we humans work and function. Looking forward to applying that knowledge to help people as a doctor is extremely exciting.
My tutoring experience spans a wide range of ages, from younger children at my local primary school who I helped with understanding the more basic concepts, through to peers my own age in upper sixth when I ran revision classes for A levels. I also tutored younger years, helping with AS levels and GSCE's.
Rates can be dependant on the level of tuition, with GCSE's paying £22 and A levels paying £30. Happy to negotiate within reason.
I am a final year clinical medical student at the University of Birmingham. I have also been able to undertake research throughout my studies at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital which fascinates me, as well as following my interest in maths and physics through open lectures, journals and media platforms that allow further understanding about the worlds natural concepts and the theories that underpin the reality we currently comprehend.
