My teaching methodology can vary based on the learning style of the student. I particularly focus on inquiry-based learning and also game-based learning. I encourage students to find the revision method that works best for them - this can involve posters, flash cards, mind maps or past papers. I am happy to provide sessions solely focused on revision prep.
I focus on students understanding a subject enough to be able to both ask and understand complex questions. I believe that a student who is inquisitive about a subject is far more likely to understand and link together topics. Therefore, I enjoy making subjects fun in order to spark creativity.
A main study method of mine is covering each topic individually and then using a short period to recap that topic in line with other previous topics learnt - allowing a connection to be made which benefits in exams/essay style questions.
I am a final year undergraduate at the University of Exeter. I am studying Biological Sciences with a specialism in ‘Molecular and Infectious Disease. I am currently on track to receive a first class honours and was delighted to be awarded the Dean’s Commendation for Academic Excellence in my first year of study.
I have worked/volunteered with students for the last 3 years. I am involved in sports coaching for students under the age of 16 as well as having run revision classes at the local college for A-level students studying psychology, biology and physical education.
I am able to tutor biology, psychology and physical education up to A-Level/BTEC award. I received 8A*s and 3A*s at GCSE. I then went on to achieve the following A-Level results; Biology (A), Psychology (A) and Physical Education (A*).
I am also DBS checked.
