Mathematics is like a house; If you don't have a strong base, you cannot progress further. For people that don't have the basics of mathematics covered, progressing can seem like a great feat. My teaching methodology allows students to build a strong base in mathematics before continuing on to more demanding concepts. I believe a well-structured method when studying consists of repetition, visual representation and, most importantly, consistency.
I am determined to teach not only the things you have to know but also how to study by yourself and how to learn independently. This skill is very important when progressing in your academic career, especially once you reach university level.
I am keen on building a personal relationship with the student so that learning becomes more pleasant for both myself and for the student, allowing there to be an easier and more enjoyable learning environment.
I am a BSc Mathematics student at the University of Surrey. I am currently in my second year of studies and have completed Maths and Further Maths at A level.
I am from Milan, Italy and moved here 4 years ago to complete sixth form college. I have had experience working with children (ages 6-14) at my local church in Milan. I am only now starting to give private tutor lessons, however, I have had experience teaching my three younger siblings ages 9 and 18, therefore I am comfortable when working with children of all ages, helping them to achieve results showing the best of their abilities. Additionally, I have lead a number of study groups with my fellow coursemates everyone, including myself, have achieved First Class honours in the first year of university.

I volunteered here for 3 consecutive summers. My key responsibilities included being responsible for a group of children aged 6-14, organise activities and ensure that the equipment that was required was present and ready to be used. I had to ensure children’s safety at all times and help the team bond through team building exercises.
