The aim of my teaching methodology is to help my students develop understanding, knowledge and confidence in their studies, and to work on specific areas where the student is in need of extra support. In my tutoring, I create a structure that allows consistent learning and progress, and I will often begin my lessons with discussing the contexts and essential information around the specific subject, for example the period in which a musical work was composed (this is useful for both academic and practical tutoring). I will then go into further study where my student needs focus, and my lessons will always be open to the questions and queries of the student. I will set manageable homework/practice goals for my student in either their academic work or their instrument, and measuring progress might include tests and quizzes, depending on what works best for the individual. Keeping a positive student-tutor relationship is very important to me, and I will ensure that my students feel that they can ask me questions.

Miranda was my musical director for two years and she was an amazing teacher. She’s always patient, kind, and positive in her teaching. I would thoroughly recommend her to anyone that’s looking for a passionate and talented tutor.
After having worked alongside Miranda both as musical and as academic colleagues I can vouch for not only her undeniable instrumental skill but also for the ease she has in communicating across the complexities of music and of musicianship to her pupils
Amazing communicator, upbeat and hardworking. Puts lots of effort into the planning and execution of lessons. Unreservedly recommend.
Miranda is not only incredibly talented herself, but has the expertise and patience required of an excellent music teacher! She is always encouraging and works with you to understand and enjoy music as well as learning how to play it. I would recommend her lessons to anyone!
Miranda is an enthusiastic and dedicated tutor. She makes learning fun and brings her passion and extensive knowledge to every lesson. What really makes Miranda stand out is her ability to make concepts easily understandable and deliver them in a down-to-earth way, no matter how complex they might seem at first. I can’t recommend her enough!
