Whilst my main study currently is an Astrophysics masters degree, I have a deep love for the mathematical method which has greatly enhanced my development in understanding the physical world. As of May 2018 I am in my first year of university having already received 2 A*s in mathematics and further mathematics with an A in physics at A-level. Given both my passion for physics and mathematics coupled with the recent experience that I have at the tutoring levels gives me an edge that other tutors may not have.
I am happy to tutor anything from the mathematics or physics courses from secondary educational level to A-Level. Typically, my teaching style is to explain why processes happen and how they work at a fundamental level as once these processes are mastered everything else simply becomes a combination and application of these methods. I find that, especially with mathematics the best way to learn, once the principles are understood, is to do as many examples as possible. When someone is able to apply their own knowledge to solve a problem, the mathematical and physical process become much more cemented in their brain. Lessons will first begin with an overview of the topic on the day, followed by a worked example and then examples that the student will undertake.
I am a first year astrophysics student at Cardiff university, originally from Stevenage. I have tutored peers and younger students in my secondary school. At A level I achieved 2 A* in mathematics and further mathematics with an A in physics.
I studied at the Barclay school, Stevenage from 2010 to 2017 where I studied triple science, maths, English, Spanish, art and PE at gcse level, then moving on to mars, further maths and physics to an Alevel standard; achieving 2 A* and 1 A at alevel. In terms of experience I have mainly tutored peers and peers of my younger siblings. Currently I am studying at Cardiff university in the astrophysics Mphys course.
Jordan is awesome and really smart, witty and generally a lovely person. He can explain complicated terms with simple words and make everything fun at the same time. I would definitely recommend him!
I have known Jordan for a very long time both personally and professionally and seen his abilities in both his own learning and supporting others go from strength to strength. I have teached others for over 13 years and Jordans ability to be able to deliver a message and ensure that learning sticks with individuals is fantastic.
Jordan is a highly skilled and professional individual who holds both math and learning to a high degree. His level of both interaction and simplifying his methods is one that holds perfect weight for any tutoring method and I have no reason to doubt his ability to tutor and been trusted in doing so.
I know Jordan through becoming colleagues a few years ago and now he is a very good friend! During our time spent together I would be forever learning new things from him, whether it was Maths or Science, his patience and knowledge is why he would make an excellent tutor!
I fully believe that if you are looking for a patient, hard working, easy going tutor then Jordan is the way to go! He will provide you with other amazing facts about life too I’m sure!
