I base my lessons off the desires of the student or their parent dependent on age but it often involves the first lesson making a list of aims and a few worksheets and developing on the aims each lesson. This could be by working through worksheets or by going through YouTube videos to understand different concepts.
I am a mathematician at heart academically. I have done 7 weeks of teaching in a primary school working with ages between 7 and 11. I worked with small groups who were under performing as well as those who were exceeding expectations. When in A2 (Year 13) I helped a struggling student in AS maths through a voluntary scheme. The AS student went from scraping a C in their mock exam to getting a B in their internal AS exam.
I can teach up to A-level standard focusing on developing the students skills to help them answer exam questions more efficiently whilst understanding the different components of the math they are studying
