I take an individual approach to my teaching as everyone learns differently and every student is at a different stage in their playing journey.
I try to make lessons as fun, engaging and informative as possible. I try to incorporate duets and games where appropriate and like to follow the student's lead in terms of repertoire.
Students can take music exams if they wish but there is no pressure to do this and I am more than happy to take on students who just want to play for fun!

In April 2019, Scarlett reached the finals of both the Flute Prize and the Harold Clarke Woodwind competitions.
While at college, Scarlett earned a place on the prestigious BSO Orchestral Post-Graduate Training Programme. Throughout the rest of her studies in 2020, she will be playing with the orchestra and supporting them in various outreach activities.
Scarlett has played with several orchestras around London including the Blackheath Halls Orchestra, Docklands Sinfonia and the Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra. She also enjoys playing for musical theatre productions.
Prior to studying at Trinity Laban, Scarlett gained a 1st Class degree in Music from the University of Nottingham, during which she studied flute with Dana Morgan. She was the principal flute of the University of Nottingham Philharmonia Orchestra and the university's Wind Orchestra, with whom she also performed Mike Mower's Flute Concerto in March 2018.
Perfect! Patience, a methodical approach to looking at technique and advising on improvements, and applying musical structure to the lesson....really constructive and enjoyable.
Really good first lesson. We were able to correct several issues. It was a really positive start. Looking forward to the next one!
