My method is the same for all my students.
The first lessons are the lessons where I teach basic sentences in French language: greetings, how to ask information, how to say you do not understand something, and what France is known for; because when one learns a language one learns its culture.
Basic sentences help people to get into the swing better, they feel more confident about learning what I call the 'technical details' of the language: grammar, spelling, good ways to word/rephrase what one wanted to say. But these details have to be studied when the student has basics in French.
A language is a bit like the human body; it is difficult to learn how an organ works if you do not an idea of where it is, and if you do not know what is a body.
At the end of the lesson, I make my students watch a video in French and they try to sum up what they understood from it. It takes about 10 minutes.
I am a French native speaker who lived in 'the country of Voltaire and Hugo' for 18 years. My first languages are both Russian and French, and I studied Russian at school to preserve my knowledge in my mother tongue and to learn more about my backgrounds.
I graduated with a Bachelor's in Foreign Languages - English and Russian in 2017 and I took a Master's in Translation from English into French in 2018.
I have two years of experience as a private English, Russian and French tutor, and good translation and interpreting skills.

Perfect! I talk with Macha 2 times per week. We have mostly oral and listening lessons. They are really helping me.
This first lesson has shown that the student has quite good verbal expression. Both the vocabulary and understanding need to be improved.
Perfectly trilingual, Macha is an excellent teacher and more than capable of communicating effectively in both French and English. Not only are her language skills exceptional, she is passionate, and knows how to convey complex linguistic subtleties and difficult concepts in an easy-to-understand format. She has taught students of all ages. I have known Macha for many years, and personally recommend her teaching services.
I have known Ms Brahim-Olenko for six years. She wishes to pursue a career as a French language teacher and I believe she is ideally suited to such a career. I first met her as teacher of translation classes (Russian to French) which she took with me as part of her Modern Languages degree (English and Russian) at Paris Nanterre University. I have been delighted to follow her personal and intellectual progress since that time, and I am convinced she has the ability and dedication necessary to pursue her chosen career. I have always found her to be a thoroughly conscientious, hard-working, articulate and affable young woman. She has excellent analytical skills. Her spoken and written English has increased massively in recent years, thanks in no small part to the time she has spent living and studying in the UK. She has first-class people skills, and is an excellent listener. She also has high levels of integrity, and is entirely trustworthy. I therefore have no hesitation on recommending her to you.
I know Macha from the university of Hull and I attended her drop-in sessions which were helpful because our conversation was relaxed and this enabled me to grow in confidence in French.
Without a doubt Dr.Macha Brahim Olenko is extremely trustworthy. Why ? She showcased a number of great virtues such as her warmth kindness , charisma’s and compassion for her students and not to forget her advanced skill in her field. Proves that she is very trustworthy
Macha is a trustworthy tutor; she is very professional, expert in interpretation. As far I know she speaks 3 languages fluently.
I strongly recommend her
