I've previously studied French, German, Spanish and Latin and have always been adept at languages. Through my tutoring I aim to support GCSE level students who are struggling in their studies and help them solve any problems they are having learning the language. My main areas of focus are grammar and sentence structure as I believe that with understanding of these fundamentals students will be able to thrive on their own. I also focus on spoken language as a means of assisting learning and revision for exams and coursework.
I've studied French, German, Spanish and Latin and have assisted students up to degree level with script editing and English as many of these were not native English speakers. This has given me some essential experience in working with languages and with people currently in education and helps me empathise with and understand people's difficulties in studying languages.
I'm willing to negotiate costs based on the student's ability to afford, commitment to learning and how skilled they are.
I’m a keen worker and am always happy to help people which is why I am looking for work in tutoring. I am an intelligent and articulate person and believe that these are qualities that I could pass on to other people. I get on well with others and aim hope I can bring a balance of hard work and humour to this job for the benefit of clients.

I have had work experience working on a shop floor during a voluntary job at my local Mind charity shop. During that time I learned how to operate a till and often had to work around the shop floor where I had to put up displays, assist customers and arrange items for sale. I have gained first-hand experience of working with customers and alongside colleagues, including helping to support co-workers with disabilities. The experience overall gave me good practice in working on a shop floor.
I have experience working the bar for weddings, serving food to the guests and pouring cask ales. I gained experience of working a long shift and the fast nature of catering.
During my current time at college I have offered my services as a literary editor. Though unpaid this has given me the opportunity to help out several people in their studies. Through this I have gained experience working to help people who don’t speak English as their first language and I have received much praise from the people I have helped.
Most recently I volunteered at the 2016 Game City Festival helping out over several days at various events around the festival. This ranged from helping developers and speakers set up their equipment, showing guests around, managing doors and the entrance to the National Videogame Arcade gallery.
At A-Level I studied electronics and computer science, passing both and receiving a B grade in electronics. Both of these subjects have given me insight into modern technologies from both a technical and consumer perspective. Computer science in particular focused on how technology is used both by consumers and corporations and has given me some second hand insight into the workplace.
For my other A-Levels I studied physics, maths and took a GCSE in Latin at the same time. Physics has always been my preferred area of science and has been a driving force behind my choices at A-Level, particularly maths and electronics. Outside of college I have attempted to apply the skills I’ve gained from the subjects and have pursued metalworking as a past time with my grandfather.
Currently I’m studying Games Design and Development at New College Nottingham. From this course I have become well versed in web code and programming principles as well as some C++.
I enjoy running and try to get out three times a week after college. To compliment this I am also working my way through a healthy cook book to improve my cooking skills. I enjoy art, in particular drawing and I have previously attended a short course on conceptual art at Nottingham Trent University which inspired me to pursue this course.
