As a lecturer in archaeology and history with more than 20 years experience in higher education, I'd be happy to give lessons and one-to-one tutorials to undergraduates and postgraduates. I can help with any questions you might have about your degree, your subject, essay writing, exam preparation, on finding literature and resources, on improving your writing skills and analytical skills. My main focus is on ancient civilisations (Roman, Greek, Celtic history/archaeology, Latin), but I also have expertise in medieval and modern history and archaeology, and I can advise you on foreign languages that you might need for your research, like German and French.
I have been teaching at universities for more than 20 years, notably at universties in Britain (London, Oxford, Lampeter) and in Germany. As former Associate Professor, I therefore have experience in teaching undergraduates and postgraduates and know what my colleagues expect from student assignments, be it essay, dissertations, blogs, projects, and so on. I can advise you how to improve your skills and how to excel at university! It's not too difficult (just a bit of effort may be necessary). Many of my former students got first-class honours and are now doing further postgraduate studies or PhDs; many got jobs in teaching and other fascinating professions.
I myself was awarded a PhD in Archaeology and History at University College London in 1997. My main area of research is in prehistoric and Roman societies, ancient history, ancient religions, Celtic studies, Latin, and I have also worked on medieval and modern history and many more. We could also organise a workshop on subjects like essay writing skills or academic German/French.
For a personalised one-hour online tutorial, I suggest a consolidated fee of £35 pounds. If you can come to Lampeter (Wales), it is only be £25. A group session would be £25 per students (online) or £15 per student (in Lampeter).
The first lesson is free so that I can evaluate your needs and requirements in order to develop a good strategy to make you succeed in your studies.
The idea is to provide one-to-one sessions to discuss your progress and help you with any questions in your studies. If you want me to give special lectures or summarize specific topics, then the price might vary, especially if I need to prepare a topic.

I was lectured by Ralph during my BA Ancient History degree. He is highly qualified, trustworthy and, most importantly, good at his job.
Ralph's extraordinary range of expertise makes studying with him absolutely fascinating. I'm waiting to start studying again with him soon.
Ralph is the most knowledgeable person I think I know! He has excellent patience and will support your learning with great professionalism, attention to detail and fabulous resources. I would definitely recommend Ralph!
His command of the Roman Empire, and its history, is unparalleled and infectious.
Though you may get confused with his PowerPoints by themselves, Ralph is by far one of the best lecturers ever. This man got me through my first two years of university with amazing marks and helped me gain confidence in my knowledge of all things Roman (and celtic). He gives fantastic advice, and is so passionate about his work that you'll have a hard time getting him to stay within the time limit as he rants on!! 5 out of five stars!!!
