I have always feel passionate about French, other languages and literature. As a translator and writer, knowledge of the French language is essential and I love teaching and sharing that knowledge. I teach and have taught several levels, from middle school to undergraduate students. Being fluent in English I know how to maximise the potential of your already-existing knowledge. It is important to keep practicing what has already been learned. That is why, in my lessons, I only speak English when necessary to explain a new rule, concept or vocabulary. The rest of the lesson will be in French, enabling you to be more and more confident expressing yourself. I can help for homework, projects or review with you that which you don't understand. Being French, I will also try and pass on to you some of my culture.
I have taught several students from different levels. I was the tutor of a student in middle school and help her with her homework in every subject, especially literature and English. Her grades improved and enabled her to pass her middle school exams. I also taught English to a high school student; I helped her with several presentations as well as her homework throughout the year. Finally, during my Bachelor's Degree in translation, I was hired by the University as a tutor for another undergraduate in French.
I had my first teaching experience when I taught improvisation and theatre for an association for two years. My responsibilities were to teach a group of 10 children and teenagers, from 8 to 13 years old and direct their play for the end of the year. They taught me how to prepare and lead a lesson as well as how to adapt to different students and different learning paces.
I passed my Baccalaureate in literature, languages, history, philosophy and theatre with a grade B, after which I entered a private school for a Bachelor's degree in translation, interpretation and international relations. For this Bachelor, which I also passed with a grade B, I spent 8 months in Australia and did an internship at the translation department of Manchester City Council, M4 Translation. After spending a year in Manchester, working as a Barista, I went back to France where I worked as an international phone interviewer for 2 years, calling companies around the world for French or international clients. I now am studying for a Master's degree in literary translation, from French to English and English to French.
