As a French native I like to base my lessons on documents (articles, videos, etc.) which are popular in France. For oral practice we can have general conversations or talk about specific topics. I think learning is more effective when the learners find the solutions themselves and when the lessons are fun. When I know what my students are interested in and want to focus on that, I like to look for documents and information they'll like in a format adapted to their capacities and to create exercices based on their interests.
Bonjour! I was a French language assistant in a Grammar school in Grantham from last October to May. I am now used to teach French to pupils from Y10 to Y13 (GCSE and A-Levels) but I can give lessons to other levels (I studied (not for the first time) French grammar in details when I wanted to take the exam entrance to become a speech therapist in France). I love this job so much that I decided to become a French teacher in the UK (starting in Leeds next September!). The more I teach, the more I want to learn to always teach more! Before coming in England to enjoy its weather I studied English (language, literature and civilisations) for 3 years and I passed this degree!
I was born in the North of France (have you seen "Bienvenue chez les ch'tis"? Yeah, I can speak like this!), lived in Brittany during 2 years and in the South West (Aquitaine) for 9 years so I know their different cultures, accents and vocabularies.
