Hello, my name is Jess Goulson and I am currently in my second year at Warwick University studying French Studies.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach French at a basic level to A level standard. I am able to prepare students for any examinations they might be taking or just help them progress with their school syllabus. In addition to this I am happy to help any student simply wishing to learn the language.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I achieved an 'A*' in GCSE French three years early (Year 8), an 'A' at A level in 2009 and a 2.1 in my first year at Warwick University studying French Studies.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £12/hr for most pupils and £14/hr for A Level students. I am happy to teach groups at a discounted rate. For students within my local vicinity no additional fee will be charged for travel.
- Where do you teach?
I am able to either teach at my home but would prefer to teach at the students' home. During term-time I am living in Leamington Spa so am able to travel anywhere within this town as well as Coventry and Warwick (anywhere in Warwickshire will be considered).
- When are you available?
I am available to work on weekends, evenings and during the weekdays depending on my university timetable. Unfortunately, I am only available in term-time as I go home during the holidays.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I can teach any ages from a basic level to A Level standard.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I can prepare students for both GCSE and A Level qualifications.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
I am looking forward to sharing my enthusiasm for the French language with any future students.
- What kind of experience do you have?
At the age of five my family and I moved to France for six and a half years. Throughout this time I was educated through the French schooling system, which meant I became bilingual within the first six months. Since returning to the UK in 2003 I have made every effort to maintain my fluency in the language, I have kept in contact with French friends and continued to study the language in school. I chose to study French Studies at university as I am passionate about the language, which I believe is reflected by my studies and my enthusiasm to teach French.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
