I've had the most experience with 11-12 year olds, however I'm comfortable teaching from this age up until A-level. For me, it's crucial to inspire genuine enthusiasm and engagement - I like students to feel comfortable asking questions and taking the lead when appropriate. Both of my parents are teachers so I know the importance of a solid lesson plan and prep!
I'm in my second year of a History and Politics degree at the University of Cambridge and loving (nearly) every second! I'm from Blackpool originally and have had experience teaching students 1on1 as well as in class settings. Got A*AA in English Literature, Law and History at A-level.
Lessons must be cancelled with 24hr notice due to time spent planning and prepping.
2015-2016: Volunteered 3hrs a week for a year at a local state primary school (Carleton Green) teaching reading and creative writing to Year 5 and 6 students.
2016: Achieved 8 A*s and 2As at GCSEs (the As were in Music and French).
2018: Took part in my Sixth Form's 'Helping Hand' scheme and tutored A-level English students in the year below me, helping 3 students achieve B grades when they were predicted Ds.
2018: Became the only person from my secondary school to get into the University of Cambridge that year to study History and Politics with A*AA.
I achieved a high 2:1 in first year, and am on track for a high 2:1/low 1st this year too.
