I am a first-year student at Imperial College London studying Physics with Science Education.
I teach students ranging from primary school to sixth form.
My lessons focus on creating and achieving subject-specific goals which are relevant and individual to the student, helping to encourage a joy of learning.
I have been a tutor for two years.
I have taught 6 students - for AS Level Mathematics, Mechanics, and Physics, and GCSE Mathematics, Physics, and English. All of my students have reported significant improvements in these areas, resulting in A or A* Grades.
I have also taught younger students and aided their school work as part of babysitting jobs, by request of the parents.
Profile
I am an outgoing and dedicated individual who will work hard to achieve great results. My social personality allows me to connect and work well with others whilst maintaining an intellectual and professional manner.
Education
2016-current, Imperial College London: I am currently a student at Imperial College, studying Physics for my Masters in Science (MSc). I will be enrolling in Physics with Science Education in my 2nd year.
2014-2016, Dubai College: For A-levels, I achieved A*’s in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Physics, and full UMS in English Literature AS. For Mathematics, I took two modules early, including a self-taught mechanics module.
2012-2014, Jumeirah College: For my GCSE’s, I achieved A*’s in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Statistics, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, English Language, English Literature, French, ICT, and History, and I achieved A’s in Economics, and PE (short course). These results were the best of my whole school year.
Relevant Work Experience
2016-current: Teaching Experience, company-hired part-time tutor and teaching assistant, Outreach Imperial, London
I have worked as both a freelance (2014-2016) and company-hired tutor – specialising in Maths and Physics. This has involved both one-to-one and classroom style teaching to a wide range of abilities from primary school to sixth form level.
2012-2016: Positions of responsibility in secondary school
I was the editor of the Media Group in secondary school and a member of the Charity Committee in my sixth form. These roles required me to regularly promote and raise money for charitable organisations. I also developed my event organisation skills as I was often called upon to organise and participate in charity and social events, including organising a social for over 200 people.
Achievements and Responsibilities
To advance my entrepreneurial skills, I took part in Dunia’s Young Business Leaders Program, and was awarded the CEO Project Award Winner.
I have also enjoyed success in my debating career - in which I’ve won both national and international events such as World Scholar’s Cup, Debate Dubai, and Bahrain Debate – which has provided me with the capability to employ logic and confidence when presenting an argument.
I am always keen to utilise logical deduction to solve problems - a skill which helped me achieve silver in the AS Physics Olympiad, golds in the UKMT, and the Bronze Crest Award.
I seek out volunteering opportunities and charity work to provide help for causes I feel strongly about. Examples include:
• Surge Charity Trip in Lucknow, India – fundraising through the church beforehand and running a summer camp for poverty-stricken children during
• Charity Trip to Kenya – building pathways for an orphanage of disabled children
• Volunteer work at Dubai Centre for Special Needs
