I have a flexible teaching style which I adapt to students' needs, whether that be looking at grammar and vocabulary in isolation or working on how they interact in a real-life context. I particularly enjoy teaching using everyday written forms of language, such as news articles, song lyrics and even blog posts. Language is a living thing, and I believe that looking at contemporary texts helps us understand those of the past!
I have had teaching experience whilst studying both at secondary school/sixth form and at university. During my 2nd year at the University of Exeter, I was an Education Officer for the German Society and ran weekly casual conversation classes with a fellow committee member.
I have an obsession with Francophone and Germanophone culture which I love to share with my students and believe that integrating your passions and hobbies into language learning makes it so much more enjoyable.
