My teaching method is pretty personalised and built entirely around the individual. In all cases, I am friendly, patient and easy going. Everyone learns in a different way, and I try my best to accommodate for that. We'll go over whatever it is you're stuck on in particular, and work to make your weakness a strength.
I personally believe that if you think you can do something, then you probably can. Confidence in your abilities is half the battle, and so not only will I try to teach you what I know but I'll also try to help you discover the confidence in yourself. If you believe in yourself and you work hard, you can achieve anything you want to.
Evan is extremely patient, knowledgeable and accommodating when tutoring, I've had the pleasure of him helping me through my mathematics and physics topics. He made me feel very comfortable when learning and carried me through every topic with ease and great care. He inspired confidence in my studies and I guarantee his others students feel the same.
Evan has always kept to anything we have scheduled. He's very reliable, able to explain things in multiple ways and always happy to help.
He's a person to whom details are important and that's reflected in his tutoring style.
Evan's tutoring was instrumental in getting me up to speed with my degree. Going from GCSE maths 10 years ago, to Degree level physics and optics with nothing relatable in between proved to be impenetrable, so I decided to try a tutor. Evan was patient and incredibly well versed in the subject, catching me up through two years worth of college material in under two months and helping me reach where I needed to be for university. This was greatly aided by his sense of humour, making the subject significantly less dry and more enjoyable.
For a tutor who can break down complex concepts, even to someone without a backing in the subject, while making the subject enjoyable, I cannot recommend Evan enough.
Hey there, my name's Evan and I'm a recent engineering graduate from Glasgow university. Despite not being an absolute genius at maths and physics, I managed to graduate with a 2:1 Masters in Aeronautical Engineering. Now, you might be thinking "not exactly the best move to tell me you're not that great at what you're offering to teach there buddy", and that would be a fair thought. How about looking at it from another angle though: how did someone like that manage to get to a Master's level at all, let alone graduate with a 2:1?
Well, the answer might surprise you - plain old hard work.
Yep, it’s about as cliché as it gets. Why am I bothering to tell you this? Well, if you're looking for a little bit of help with your studies, then you are probably someone who was/is a lot like me. You're someone who wants to do well, regardless of natural talent or inclination. And I get that.
As someone who had to put the effort in and couldn't glide through his studies, I understand fully all the hardships and frustration that comes with it. I know how much it sucks to bang your head against something that you might see other people understanding so easily but you've been stuck on it for about 14 million years and it still looks as cryptic as when you started. I also know how GOOD it feels when something finally clicks after spending a lifetime trying to work it out.
That's why I'd like to give others a helping hand. It's a pretty great feeling to help someone understand something, to overcome a challenge and boost their confidence. Helping my brother with his Nationals and Highers, sharing and my knowledge with fellow students, or even teaching my dad (who never even finished school) Trigonometry; seeing the smile of recognition on their face genuinely brings me joy.
So if you think you'd like a hand from me, please get in touch. I'm more than happy to help anyone from Nationals to the start of University. We can work via webcam, or even in person if you're nearby. We'll work together to help you overcome your problems and achieve what you know you can.
