Friendly maths tutor who can teach maths and inspire students to adopt positive revision and learning attitudes and exam technique.

Methodology

I specialise in maths tuition Primary to GCSE level but I can also offer other tuition on the side such as KS3 sciences or English. I can help students strengthen their understanding in a topic of their choosing that they are unsure of or go through homework and past papers to develop exam technique. I aim to nudge the student towards the answer using knowledge that they already have. When explaining new concepts and techniques, where possible, I aim to explain why a method works as well as how to do it. This is to further deepen the students understanding and increases the likelihood of them being able to tackle similar questions or concepts in the future.

I value the importance of having a tutor who not only teaches clearly and patiently but who is also relatable and can be a role model in their learning and revision. I hope to be that person who can explain concepts to students and deepen their understanding of a topic whilst also inspiring a positive attitude to learning that can extend into their other school subjects

Experience

In school I helped out once a fortnight with year 7 students to improve their confidence in maths and help them maintain concentration on their work. In October 2020 I stayed with a French family for an au pair language exchange experience. During my time there I planned and prepared English lessons for the boys and helped them with maths and reading homework.
