I appreciate that each pupil has their own method of learning and therefore strive to tailor my lessons to each student. I like to begin each lesson by consulting the specification, then moving on to covering some of the theory and finishing with some exam questions and work on exam technique! I am very much guided by the students and will gladly cover topics that they’re struggling with at a pace that suits them.
I'm a second year medical student at Imperial College London. At GCSE I absolutely hated the three sciences and maths. It was only when I got to A level and started learning content that was more interesting to me, taught by more engaging teachers, that I began to really enjoy the subjects. As a result, I've come to really appreciate the value of a good teacher!
Having sat my GCSE's and A levels fairly recently, I know how much of a struggle the endless hours of revision can seem. I also appreciate that each student has their own revision techniques and methods, therefore I'm always happy to listen to how each student wants to learn. For example, I myself am a very visual learner and hence use pictures and mind maps when I'm revising. If you don't know your revision technique yet, that's fine too! I'm more than happy to help you find the perfect technique for you.
Medical student at Imperial College London giving GCSE lessons in Chemistry and GCSE and A level lessons in Biology. I achieved A*s in both at GCSE and an A* in Biology A level with an A in Chemistry A level.
Aoife has been tutoring me for a few months now and already I’ve seen an improvement in my exam technique and my grades in Biology as a whole. She has made PowerPoints about topics I found most difficult and went through them with me so I properly understood. Aoife also set me lots of practice questions which she then marked and went over with me. She is very passionate about the subject and has managed to keep me engaged- even with topics I didn’t really enjoy!
