Friendly, professional and experienced Spanish teacher (Castellano) offering all GCSE to Cambridge International A Level standard and all other A Level / GCSE students

Methodology

I relate well to students of all ages - I teach vocabulary, sentence structure, cultural life, history, conversation and presentation as well as essay writing, literature selection and literary analysis.

Get in touch and we can have a friendly conversation or meeting for me to best understand how I can potentially meet your needs and requirements.

Warmest regards, Louie Ablett

Experience

I'm a 22 year old self employed professional enrolled at Swansea University Medical School. I offer private and group classes in Spanish, biological and chemical sciences up to a high grade standard at A level - Additionally I teach physics and mathematics up to a high GCSE standard.
Spending many months in Spain many times since a young age right through until current restrictions, I would include in my highlights the 3 months I spent helping out on a farm in Andalucia at the age of 12 and 3 months in Madrid as an extended language exchange program through my school to help my attain my A* in Spanish GCSE, top of my year group.
I’m experienced as I have been teaching all these subjects over the last 3 and a half years.
My Spanish exam received the second highest award for comprehension and spoken language at Cambridge International A Level and I was top of my class, out-performing native Spanish speaking peers.

I am well traveled and am well accustomed to working with non-native English speaking and people of many cultural and religious backgrounds, and I have a recent full DBS check; don’t be shy: Send me a message!

Thom Williams, Dewsall Court Catering Manager “[...]I have known Louie [...] for 3 years. I have managed Louie in the past and [... he is] a very hard-working member of staff, he is highly organised, has great communication skills and I have always been very impressed with the way that he has approached work. I highly recommend Louie"

Chronology
September 1999 - August 2006: Homeschooled in groups, online and mail courses.
September 2006 - November 2010: Attended Hereford Steiner School.
November 2010 - August 2013: Left school for homeschooling and traveled around Europe for 3 months in 2012, before returning to finish secondary school at the same school. While I was out of school I attended group homeschool classes with relevant History, Science and Geography (amongst other relevant work) homework set for throughout the week. I also worked on a postal English course, had one on one maths tutoring and was also lucky enough to receive diverse and in-depth training in engineering while volunteering at the local model engineering club.
September 2011: I completed a Green Woodwork course
January-March 2012: Electric classes with the well known German electrical engineering author Michel Daniek
September 2013 - July (again in 2014 & 2017: Volunteered for the RSPB at their reserves in Minsmere, Conwy and Arne. This involved lots of teamwork, manual labour and good camaraderie.
2014 & 2015: Magistrate & Crown Court Mock Trials. The process involved collaborating with my team, managing team progress and building morale. On a personal level I spent many many hours meticulously analysing the briefings and case details, to prepare all my cases, and ultimately publicly examining and cross-examining acting witnesses in a courtroom.
2014-15: Chair of the School Council. This was my first experience of leadership, gaining trust and respect from my peers, taking into consideration and listening to others and making informed and fair decisions. Some of these included; deciding how to spend funds, conducting interviews of new staff, and presenting whole school feedback assemblies.
2014 - 2015: Youth Rangers programme - team building exercises, completing basic First Aid training and various other conservation certificates and awards, reforesting and re-fencing conservation areas.
March-May 2015: 3 month language exchange to Madrid. This was key to improving my level of Spanish.
Summers 2015, 2016 and 2017: Worked for The Flaming Pizza Company at many festivals, weddings and business events. Working in all roles on long shifts. The owners described me as "Reliable" and "Dependable". I worked hard over long shifts maintaining a positive work attitude in a customer facing, money handling & hygiene conscious multifaceted role.
2015-Ongoing: Designing and performing music mixes at parties and clubs. Self promotion (social media managing, video editing, mix recording and images, logos and banners designing) led to bookings and I secured a regular Tuesday and Friday night slot in a local club.
2015-2016: Helping out a local green woodwork constructionist.I was moving, preparing, carving and jointing the timber.
February 2016: Work Experience with Catcher Media (Film Production Company). My roles included sound, video editing, and admin (Microsoft Excel data entry).
2016: Passed 8 GCSE exams with grades A*- B.
March 2016 - Current (Now only occasionally): FoH Waiting, Bar Staff and part-time housekeeping at Dewsall Court Ltd., A venue for weddings and other private events. I was in the front of house wait staff, as an attendant, a bartender, and also worked occasional shifts as a kitchen hand and in general housekeeping.
2016 - 2018: A Levels: Biology, Chemistry & Spanish. I obtained 3 Cs as I was unable to find full time teachers, my college unfortunately couldn’t afford to employ any. Without support I struggled to identify a direction to pursue. A large part of my two years was spent teaching myself and learning to apply myself, so my time was at least spent well.
2016-2017: Cleaned guest rooms and local kindergarten, worked in the grounds for some holiday money.
July-August 2018 Volunteer at Festivals. Being the face for the public to trust and communicating between the organisers, public, security and the fire brigade as a campsite fire marshal.
September-December 2018 Site work. In order to save for traveling I went full time at Dewsall Court in September and supplemented this with 4 days a week also doing manual site work. Nearly died with it all!
December 2018-March 2019. To try something different I did a work exchange in NSW, Australia. I worked in gardens, did home DIY and produced a promotional video.
April 2019 - October 2019 Sales Rep My job was cold calling door to door for an energy marketing company in Melbourne. I stepped out of the business with regret, despite promise of promotion into management, or training for solar sale home appointments.
October 2019 - November 2019 Hotel Events Attendant Team member for conferences and special events in Melbourne’s Pullman & Mercure Albert Park hotel. Extra roles were bar management and customer service.
October 2019 - January 2020 Bartender, Barista, Restaurant management and service Making and serving drinks, coffees and managing the restaurant.
January 2020 - June 2020 Lettings and Estate Management Trainee. Back in the UK, I wanted to build on my experience in sales and work with property to diversify my skill set. This depended heavily on my Microsoft Office knowledge, conducted market research, viewings, management and contracts.
May 2020 - Ongoing Business Telephone Lead Generator My roles include training, building rapport with our client's customers over phone appointment and re-selling them our client's services. Previous roles have included outbound Telemarketing and charity donor acquisitions. Charities we work with and have worked with include Great Ormond Street Hospital, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, Alzheimer's Research UK and companies we work with/have worked with include Love Energy Savings and Don't Waste Money.
September 2020 - Ongoing Genetics Bsc Undergraduate I have enrolled at Swansea's accredited medical school in order to conduct research once I graduate.
December 2020 Launched my business to business sales services limited company after arranging a lucrative multinational wholesale of medical and pharmaceutical products for import.
April 2021 Began selling my sales and marketing services part time, taking on full time contracts from May.
