Fully qualified and experienced teacher of English. Based in Colchester,Essex, I have a BA Hons in English Language and literature.I offer tuition to beginners up to those sitting their IGCSE.
Methodology
I aleays use the modelling method. this is when I say oe do something to demonstrate, eg pronounciation. I then ask the student to say or do it with me . when I feel the student is confident enough then i let him or her say or do it.
Experience
I have been teaching for the past 17 years. during this time i have offered individual tuition to many students with English as their second language. Many students I have worked with have gone on to pass their English at various levels. I use short and interactive lessons where students are encouraged to express themselves, to make mistakes as a way of learning and play around with words. I model my answers and offer the student the chance to see and hear me say or do it before we do it together and then the student tries it on his own.

2002 Jan to present: teacher of English for ks3 and KS4.
I have taught at various schools throughout the UK. From 2002-2004 I taught at Barking and Dagenham Tuition centre before moving to Colchester. I then spent a total of eight years at Donnyland Lodge School before becoming a full time Supply teacher. I have also worked with students who were streuggling at GCSE level and managed to move most of them from a D to a C grade. I have produced students who have gone on to University and taken up professional employment.
